TriMet said its ridership went up in February for the first time in a year. MAX led the way, partly because of the new Green Line into Clackamas County.

TriMet says its ridership went up in February for the first time in a year.
The transit agency said that 7.9 million trips were taken in February up 1.4 percent from February 2009. MAX ridership showed the most gains, in part due to the new Green Line and the shift to free rides only on rail in what was Fareless Square downtown.
TriMet said weekly trips on buses, MAX and WES commuter rail went up 1.4 percent, climbing to 1,968,800 million trips. Rush hour trips dropped 2.7 percent to 102,400 trips.
The new MAX Green Line into Clackamas County averaged 19,100 weekday trips. Weekend trips on the new line averaged 24,500.
Washington County’s commuter rail line between Wilsonville and Beaverton saw its weekly trips increasing 0.8 percent to 6,300 trips.
