OREGON CITY – The Barlow girls pushed top-ranked Oregon City into the second half before falling 50-28 in the second round of the OSAA Class 6A basketball playoffs Friday night.
The Bruins closed to within a single point early in the third quarter on a 3-pointer by Audrey Gloss and a fastbreak layin by Madison Strasburg, but Oregon City responded with a 13-2 run to close out the quarter.
“I thought we were there,” Barlow coach Ryan Alexander said of his team’s scoring burst to start the second half. “I’m totally proud of the way these girls played tonight – they did a great job following our game plan.”
The Pioneers maintained a double-digit lead throughout the fourth quarter to earn a berth into next week’s state tournament at the Rose Garden.
